The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced plans to commemorate the 44th anniversary of the December 31 Revolution with a major national event in Ada in the Greater Accra Region.

The commemoration is scheduled for Wednesday, December 31, 2026, at the Asafotufiam Park and will begin at 8:00 a.m. Party leaders, government officials, party faithful and sympathisers from across the country are expected to attend the event.

According to the NDC, the anniversary celebration will provide an opportunity for members and supporters to reflect on the historical significance of the December 31, 1981 Revolution and its impact on Ghana’s political, social and economic development.

The annual commemoration has become a key fixture on the party’s calendar, serving as a moment to assess the revolution’s legacy while reaffirming the NDC’s commitment to accountability, social justice and inclusive governance.
