The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has expressed his support for the Togbe Afrika Homecoming held at the Infinity Stars Hotel at Penyi, describing the initiative as a positive platform for promoting music, culture and youth empowerment in the Volta Region.
The Minister’s gesture was warmly appreciated by Togbe Afrika, who commended Hon. Gunu for his leadership and commitment to initiatives that bring people together while creating opportunities for young people in the region.
The Homecoming marks Togbe Afrika’s return to the music scene after more than two decades. Beyond entertainment, the initiative seeks to use music as a tool to inspire young people to stay away from drug abuse and pursue education, entrepreneurship and other positive opportunities.
Togbe Afrika expressed his gratitude to the Regional Minister for believing in the vision and supporting the initiative, stressing that the Homecoming is not solely about his personal return to music but also about promoting the talents, culture and potential of the Volta Region’s youth.
“I sincerely appreciate the Hon. Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, for his support and for believing in this vision. This is not only about Togbe Afrika; it is about our youth, our music, our culture and our Volta Region,” he said.
He subsequently called on other political and traditional leaders, businesses, corporate organisations and development partners to support initiatives that promote youth talent, preserve the region’s cultural heritage and contribute to the socio-economic development of the Volta Region.
The Togbe Afrika Homecoming is expected to serve as a platform for reconnecting with fans while using music and culture to promote positive values and opportunities for young people across the region.
