A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legal team, Lawyer Victor Adawudu, has confirmed that former Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedina Tamakloe, is currently in prison, dismissing claims about her alleged disappearance.

His remarks come in response to accusations by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), which suggested that the government was shielding the former MASLOC boss from serving a 10-year prison sentence handed down by the Accra High Court after her extradition to Ghana.
Speaking in an interview with Citi News on Wednesday, June 17, Mr. Adawudu refuted the allegations, stating that the appropriate state institutions are ensuring that the court’s orders are being enforced.
“All I know is that there are appropriate authorities that are supposed to ensure that the orders of the court are being enforced. So, to my knowledge, she is in the hands of the Ghana Prisons and the security people,” he said.
He further urged individuals seeking clarity on the matter to utilise the Right to Information (RTI) process rather than rely on speculation and political claims.
“I am sure that with an application through the Right to Information, they will be given [the information], rather than speculation. But I can tell you that she is in the hands of the security, as she was handed over by the US authorities,” Mr. Adawudu added.
The confirmation is expected to intensify public discourse surrounding the case, as questions over the circumstances of her extradition and imprisonment continue to generate political debate.
Sedina Tamakloe was convicted over her role in a financial loss to the state during her tenure at MASLOC, a case that has remained a focal point in discussions about accountability and governance in Ghana.
