The National Sports Authority (NSA) hosted a special Iftar gathering at the Accra Sports Stadium, bringing together management, staff, and members of the Muslim community in a show of unity and solidarity as the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close.

The Director General of the Authority, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, emphasized that the gathering also provided an opportunity for reflection, fellowship, and engagement, reinforcing the entity’s commitment to promoting harmony and unity within the sports ecosystem and beyond.

“We are all gathered here today from different backgrounds and even different faiths to show solidarity, mutual respect, and unity at a time when we face difficult challenges. It is important that we do not abandon our faith, especially in testing times.”

The symbolic sitting ahead of the “breaking of the fast” was aimed at fostering inclusivity and strengthening bonds among staff and stakeholders of diverse religious backgrounds.

Management of the NSA highlighted the importance of peace, togetherness, and mutual respect, while commending the Muslim faithful for their dedication and discipline throughout Ramadan, which will be replicated in a few weeks with the Easter religious observations and festivities.
