Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Madam Sabah Zita Benson, has formally presented her Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Charles III at St James’s Palace in London, officially commencing her diplomatic duties.

The ceremony, held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, reaffirmed the enduring historical and diplomatic relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom, ties that span several decades.

Madam Benson, who serves as Ghana’s top diplomatic representative in the UK, was officially recognized during the ceremony as the country’s High Commissioner, granting her the mandate to engage the British government on behalf of Accra.

The event also signaled renewed momentum in bilateral cooperation, particularly in areas such as trade, education, governance, and cultural exchange.

Officials from both countries expressed optimism that her tenure would strengthen collaboration and reinforce mutual interests between the two Commonwealth partners.

With the completion of the formalities, the High Commissioner is expected to begin a series of diplomatic engagements aimed at expanding Ghana–UK relations across key sectors.
