Ghanaian Dancehall star Shatta Wale has filed a GH¢100 million defamation lawsuit against outspoken broadcaster Blakk Rasta at the Accra High Court.

The legal action arises from a video published on December 15, 2025, on Blakk Rasta’s digital media platforms, where the radio personality allegedly made claims linking the musician to fraud-related activities.

In his writ of summons, Shatta Wale describes the video — titled “Shatta Wale, self-confessed king of fraud” — as misleading and damaging, arguing that it falsely associated him with criminal conduct.

The musician told the court that the content spread rapidly across social media, generating massive public engagement within a day of its release, with combined views exceeding 170,000 on Facebook and YouTube.

According to the plaintiff, the publication suggested that he was involved in fraudulent activities, had questionable moral character, and maintained ties with individuals engaged in cybercrime — accusations he firmly rejects.

Shatta Wale says the claims have harmed his credibility as an entertainer, strained relationships with business partners and sponsors, and caused emotional distress to his family and supporters.

He is therefore seeking several reliefs, including a declaration that the statements were defamatory and an order directing Blakk Rasta to delete the video and all related materials from his social media accounts.

The artiste is also requesting a permanent injunction to prevent further defamatory commentary, along with a public apology and retraction to be published online and in major national newspapers.

In addition to these demands, Shatta Wale is asking the court to award him GH¢100 million in damages, together with the cost of the lawsuit.ges, plus legal costs.
