Forget Bawumia and the rest, I’m miles ahead – Bryan Acheampong on NPP flagbearer race

Dr Bryan Acheampong has declared himself the clear frontrunner in the party’s upcoming presidential primary, insisting internal data puts him far ahead of his rivals.

The aspiring New Patriotic Party flagbearer said his campaign has carried out what he described as “military precision profiling” of party delegates across the country.

“We are doing military precision profiling, and we’ve profiled 190,000 delegates out of the 209,000,” he said on PM Express.

Asked what the exercise revealed, he was emphatic. “We are miles ahead,” he stated, repeating the claim for emphasis. “We have profiled 190,000 delegates, and I’m way, way, way, way ahead.”

Dr Acheampong dismissed suggestions that his confidence was speculative, grounding it instead in what he said was direct engagement with party delegates.

“I’ve been in contact with 200,000 of the 209,000 people we profiled, 190,000 people,” he said.

Looking ahead to the January 31, 2026, presidential primary, he struck a defiant tone. “The elections of January 31, 2026, will not change the results,” he said. “I’ll win. Nothing will change it.”

He added that his comments were meant to manage expectations. “I’m saying that so that you are not surprised when I win,” he said.
