Fans of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba defied heavy rains to celebrate his life and music, turning a rain-soaked farewell into a moving tribute filled with dance, song, and emotion.

Despite persistent downpours that disrupted the funeral proceedings, hundreds of mourners gathered to honour the iconic musician, refusing to let the weather dampen their spirits

As rain fell, Lumba’s timeless hits echoed through the venue, with fans dancing under open skies and singing along to songs that defined generations.

The unexpected rains caused logistical challenges, forcing many attendees to seek shelter under canopies. Some mourners were left stranded as movement around the venue became difficult, yet the crowd remained resilient and united.

The scene reflected the deep connection Daddy Lumba shared with his fans. Even in discomfort and uncertainty, they chose celebration over frustration, proving that his music continues to inspire joy and togetherness beyond his passing.
