The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the postponement of all District Assembly and Unit Committee by-elections until further notice.

In a notice dated November 3, 2025, the Commission informed the general public that the scheduled by-elections have been put on hold, indicating that new dates will be communicated in due course.

The announcement, signed by Mr. Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director of the EC’s Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Department, did not state the reason for the postponement.

The Commission assured the public that further updates will be provided when arrangements are finalised.
