Mahama swears in new Right to Information Commission

President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in the new Right to Information (RTI) Commission, reinforcing the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.

Dr. James Asante has been appointed as Chairman of the Commission, with Christina Edmund serving as Vice Chairperson.

The Commission’s membership also includes Kobby Woyome, Aba Edusah, Angela Emefa Kpegah, Shirley Lartey, who doubles as Executive Secretary, and Chris Dugan.

The newly inaugurated Commission is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the Right to Information Act, ensuring that citizens can access public information, and promoting transparency across all public institutions.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, President Mahama emphasised the importance of the Commission in fostering accountability and strengthening citizens’ trust in governance.
