Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, is mourning the unexpected passing of his father, a loss he describes as both shocking and deeply painful.

Mr. Ofosu Nkansah shared the heartbreaking news in the early hours of Sunday, February 15, 2026, through an emotional message that has since resonated with many across the country. In his post, he expressed disbelief over the sudden nature of his father’s death, noting that there had been no known serious illness prior to his passing.

According to him, his father had maintained a consistent routine of quarterly medical check-ups and had not shown signs of any major health complications. The abrupt turn of events has left the family struggling to come to terms with the reality of their loss.

“My Dad has never fallen sick aside going to hospital every quarter for his routine check-ups and within a week he is gone just like that. Hmmmm. Agyapa, da yie,” he wrote. The Akan phrase “Agyapa, da yie” translates to “Father, rest well,” reflecting his grief and farewell message.

The announcement has sparked an outpouring of sympathy on social media, with many Ghanaians offering prayers and messages of comfort to Mr. Ofosu Nkansah and his family. Friends, colleagues, and supporters have expressed solidarity, urging him to find strength during what is undoubtedly a difficult and emotional period.

As the family navigates this painful chapter, tributes continue to pour in, underscoring the deep sense of community and compassion shared in moments of loss.
