Veteran Ghanaian musician Bright Martevi Tetteh, better known in the music world as Shortman or Too Short, is a seasoned artist with roots in the legendary music group Sass Squad. He has received international recognition as the Ghana Western Achievement and Celebrities Awards (GWACA) officially announced its first-ever UK edition, scheduled for 14th March 2026.

The prestigious awards scheme, which has successfully run for four consecutive years in Ghana, will now extend its celebration of excellence to the United Kingdom—marking a historic milestone for the Western Region and Ghanaian creatives abroad.

According to Sidney Washington Daniels, the Ghanaian-British entrepreneur and investor popularly known as Official Shuuge Knight, and CEO & Founder of LondonHills Productions, Shortman has been officially invited as a special guest artiste for the UK launch.

Daniels explained that the invitation is in recognition of Shortman’s legendary status and his immense contribution to Ghanaian music since the 1990s, particularly his impact on the Western Region. Rising from the influential Sass Squad movement to a successful solo career, Shortman has remained a key figure in shaping Ghana’s hip-hop and urban music culture.

He emphasized that Shortman is being honored strictly for his legacy and influence, and will not be performing at the event.

Adding to the excitement, Shortman has released two brand-new hit singles, further solidifying his relevance and consistency in the music industry. The new songs—“Lovely Jolley” and “Level Up”—are already gaining attention for their fresh sound and uplifting energy, serving as a bridge between his classic roots and modern musical evolution.

With a debut album on the way, new singles making waves, and international recognition through GWACA, Shortman continues to prove that his legacy is not only intact but still growing—cementing his place as a true icon of Ghanaian hip-hop and cultural history.
