Two employees of a Chinese-owned company, Asomdwie Rubber Company, have been found dead in a parked vehicle at a shoe factory premises in Atonsu Agogo in the Ashanti Region.

The deceased, identified as Baba and a female colleague whose name is yet to be confirmed, both worked at the company, which specialises in plastic processing. Baba was a senior staff member, while the woman had been employed for less than two months.

Their deaths remain shrouded in mystery. The two were discovered on the back seat of the vehicle, with the woman’s head resting on Baba’s. Baba was reportedly dressed in only a singlet and shorts. The car’s tinted windows were rolled up and the doors locked at the time of discovery.

Sources say the staff of Asomdwie Rubber Company had earlier attended the wedding of one of their managers on Saturday, November 22, where both deceased individuals were present.

Later that evening, the female employee reported for her shift, complained of feeling unwell and was asked to go home. Around 8 p.m., residents observed Baba’s vehicle driving into the area before it parked with the engine initially running, which later went off.

The car remained unmoved throughout Sunday, November 23. It was not until Monday, November 24, that workers and residents noticed a foul smell and alerted police. Officers broke the vehicle’s windows to gain access and found the two bodies.

Further reports indicate that Baba married in early August 2025, and his wife is currently pregnant. The female colleague was also reportedly preparing for her own wedding, scheduled for December 2025.

Police have since deposited the bodies at the morgue as investigations continue.
