President John Dramani Mahama has disclosed that the expansion of Zonda Tec Ghana’s assembly plant is expected to create approximately 1,000 additional indirect jobs across the automotive value chain.

He said the investment, which is expected to almost double the company’s direct employment, will also generate jobs in logistics, maintenance, component supply, distribution and other supporting industries.

Speaking at the commissioning of the third phase of the Zonda Tec Ghana Assembly Plant on Tuesday, September 15, President Mahama said the expansion will significantly increase employment opportunities for Ghanaians.

“The investment we are celebrating today will significantly expand employment opportunities. It is expected to almost double direct employment at Zonda Tec while creating approximately 1,000 additional indirect jobs across logistics, maintenance, component supply, distribution and other supporting industries,” he said.

President Mahama also commended Zonda Tec for establishing an academy dedicated to training young Ghanaians in automotive skills, describing the initiative as an important contribution to developing the skills needed by the growing industry.

He further praised the company for establishing the Zonda Tec Foundation, which has announced scholarships for young Ghanaians to travel to China to acquire skills in automotive manufacturing.

According to President Mahama, such investments in skills development will complement the expansion of the automotive industry by equipping young people with the technical expertise required to participate in the sector.
