The affected institutions include the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited (CBG) and the National Sports Authority.

The Presidency announced the decision in a statement issued on Wednesday, September 2, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications.

“President John Dramani Mahama has dissolved the Boards of the following institutions with immediate effect,” the statement read in part.

The other institutions affected are Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited, Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO), Ghana Post Company Limited, Road Maintenance Trust Fund and TDC Ghana Limited.

The President has directed the relevant sector ministers to take the necessary steps to give effect to the dissolution in accordance with the applicable laws and governing instruments.

The Presidency said the affected boards would subsequently be reconstituted.

“The affected Boards will be reconstituted in due course,” the statement noted.
