Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has donated relief support to some victims affected by the recent floods and called on Ghanaians to unite in assisting families and communities impacted by the disaster.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Dr. Bawumia said he had earlier visited some of the affected families, describing their resilience despite the devastating losses they had suffered as inspiring.

“Earlier today, I visited some families affected by the recent floods. Their courage in the face of such heartbreaking loss is truly inspiring,” he wrote.

Dr. Bawumia said he had provided support to some of the affected persons as his contribution towards easing their burden and encouraged other Ghanaians to extend similar assistance to those in need.

“In my own little way, I’m providing some support to some affected persons, and I encourage fellow Ghanaians to each lend a helping hand where you can to help someone affected by this disaster,” he stated.

He also expressed sympathy to families who had lost loved ones and offered prayers for communities working to recover from the floods.

“May the good Lord comfort every grieving family, strengthen every affected community and guide us as we work together to rebuild,” Dr. Bawumia said.

The former Vice President expressed optimism that the country would overcome the disaster through unity and collective effort, adding: “We will recover together.”

Recent flooding has affected several communities, leaving many families displaced and causing extensive damage to homes and property. Authorities and humanitarian organisations continue to assess the impact and provide relief to affected residents.
