President John Dramani Mahama has concluded the Central Region leg of the nationwide #ResettingGhana Tour with a Citizens’ Engagement Town Hall meeting in Apam, where he interacted directly with residents, outlined his administration’s achievements, and reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating the region’s development.

Accompanied by Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the President used the town hall to provide an account of his government’s progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education, governance and economic transformation, while presenting plans aimed at attracting investment, creating jobs and improving livelihoods.

The interactive session gave residents the opportunity to engage the President on issues affecting their communities, including road infrastructure, healthcare delivery, employment opportunities, education and local economic development. President Mahama assured participants that their concerns would continue to inform government policies and development priorities.

The Apam town hall marked the climax of a multi-stop tour across the Central Region, during which President Mahama commissioned and inspected several development projects. Among the highlights was the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a new 24-Hour Economy Market at Assin Bereku, a flagship initiative expected to boost commerce, support local businesses and create employment opportunities.

The President also inspected ongoing road projects designed to improve connectivity across the region, inaugurated a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound to strengthen access to primary healthcare, and presented Free Primary Healthcare kits to enhance healthcare delivery at the community level.

As part of efforts to promote Ghana’s tourism potential, President Mahama visited Cape Coast Castle, where he reiterated his administration’s commitment to preserving the country’s historical heritage and leveraging tourism as a key driver of economic growth.

Addressing the gathering in Apam, President Mahama said the #ResettingGhana Tour reflects his government’s commitment to accountability, transparency and citizen participation in governance. He stressed that engaging directly with Ghanaians enables government to better understand the needs of communities and implement policies that deliver meaningful improvements in people’s lives.

He reaffirmed his administration’s determination to continue investing in critical infrastructure, expanding access to quality healthcare and education, and implementing the 24-Hour Economy policy to stimulate industrial growth, increase productivity and create sustainable employment opportunities across the country.

The Central Region tour forms part of President Mahama’s nationwide engagements aimed at updating citizens on government programmes while fostering dialogue on Ghana’s development agenda.
