President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to actively contribute to the country’s development, stressing that national progress depends on the collective efforts of its people.

Speaking during the country’s 69th Independence Day celebrations on Friday, March 6, the president encouraged citizens to play meaningful roles in building a prosperous and hopeful nation.

The event, held under the theme “Building Prosperity, Inspiring Hope,” brought together government officials, traditional leaders, and members of the public to commemorate Ghana’s independence.

President Mahama acknowledged that Ghana’s journey since independence has come with difficulties, but noted that the nation has continued to demonstrate resilience and determination.

He urged Ghanaians from all walks of life to work diligently and perform their duties with excellence for the benefit of the country and future generations.

“Wherever you are, whatever you do, do your part with excellence. Do it for Ghana, for Africa, and for the generations yet unborn,” he said.

The president reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of citizens and called for unity and shared responsibility in driving Ghana’s development forward.
