The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of harbouring lingering resentment over his role in the 2016 general elections, claiming this has fueled persistent attacks against him.

Addressing supporters in the Okaikwei South Constituency, Dr. Bawumia said the NDC often resorts to insults whenever his name is mentioned, a reaction he attributed to the impact of his campaign performance during the 2016 election season.
“The 2016 campaign was a heated one, and that is why the NDC does not like me,” he stated, adding that he remains undeterred by the criticism and is focused on his political objectives.
Dr. Bawumia maintained that the opposition party’s attitude stems from the effectiveness of his message in 2016, insisting that personal attacks would not distract him from engaging Ghanaians on policy and development issues.
