The Ghana Police Service is urging the public to stay calm after false reports claimed Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno had died.

A statement posted on the Service’s X page on Sunday, November 30, made it clear that the trending rumours are completely inaccurate. The Police say the IGP is alive, well, and fully at post.

The Service is asking the public, its personnel, and the family of the IGP to ignore what it calls a malicious attempt to spread confusion.

Police authorities also issued a warning to those behind the rumour, reminding them that sharing false information is an offense—and that anyone found responsible will be dealt with according to the law.
