The Managing Director of Channel One TV and Citi FM, Samuel Attah-Mensah, has affirmed that AgriFair is a permanent platform for promoting Ghana’s local agricultural products, farmers, and rural communities.

Speaking during the fair at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra, Mr. Attah-Mensah said the media house’s role is to provide a platform that celebrates the foods Ghanaians know and love—products grown locally, part of the nation’s culinary heritage, and central to the livelihoods of farmers.

“We are just a media house offering the platform to promote the tastes that are not alien to our tongue—the food we grow, what we grew up eating, the ones we are familiar with, the food that has kept our farmers busy, the food that has developed our rural communities. It is time to give back, and we use our medium to promote the same. That is all we can do, and that is what this event is all about,” he said.

He added, “AgriFair has come to stay, and we thank you for your partnership, we thank you for your patronage, and we thank you for your support.”

Now in its second edition, AgriFair continues to attract large crowds of shoppers, farmers, processors, and agripreneurs. The fair provides a vibrant marketplace for fresh vegetables, fruits, grains, poultry, fish, and other farm produce. It also features practical Agric Clinics on fish farming, poultry production, snail farming, and piggery, aimed at equipping both seasoned farmers and aspiring agripreneurs with the skills to grow their operations.

The event aligns with broader national efforts to strengthen domestic production and reduce Ghana’s nearly US$3 billion annual food import bill.

Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programmes, Mr. Augustus Goosie Tanoh, urged private sector partners to collaborate on initiatives such as the “Made-in-Ghana Gifting” programme, designed to promote locally made hampers and gift packages, generating steady demand for farmers and processors.

AgriFair also serves as a hub for networking, innovation, and education in Ghana’s agricultural sector, bringing together producers, consumers, and market actors under one platform. This helps ensure steady incomes for farmers, reduces speculative pricing, and strengthens Ghana’s agricultural value chains.

The 2025 edition is powered by Channel One TV and Citi FM, with support from key industry partners including Horticulture Business Platform, Development Bank Ghana, Legacy Crop Improvement Centre, GIRSAL, Ghana EXIM Bank, and Agri-Impact, and support from Twellium Industrial Company Limited.
