The highly anticipated UK Launch of the Ghana Western Achievement and Celebrities Awards (GWACA) has been officially announced, with the inaugural UK edition scheduled for Saturday, 28th February 2026. This milestone marks the first time the prestigious awards scheme, which has successfully run for four consecutive years in Ghana, will extend its celebration of excellence to the United Kingdom.

The awards, established to honour individuals, businesses, and celebrities of Western Ghanaian heritage who have made remarkable contributions to their communities and industries, have built a strong reputation through four successful editions held in Takoradi, Ghana. The fourth edition, in particular, was widely acclaimed by attendees, media, and dignitaries as the best in the scheme’s history, drawing participation from top government officials, industry leaders, and cultural icons.

According to Sidney Washington Daniels, a Ghanaian-British entrepreneur and investor popularly known as Official Shuuge Knight, and CEO & Founder of LondonHills Productions—the company behind GWACA—the expansion into the UK represents “a new chapter in celebrating Western Ghanaian excellence on a global platform.”

“It’s time to showcase the incredible achievements of Western Ghanaians and their influence beyond our borders,” Daniels stated. “The UK edition will provide an international platform for recognition while the Ghana edition continues to thrive independently. Both will now run annually under the same company.”

As part of the international expansion, Ibrahim Idris, affectionately known as “Too Much”, a celebrated Western Region actor and comedian, has been appointed as the International Project Manager for GWAUK. His appointment is expected to strengthen the bridge between the Ghanaian and UK editions, ensuring the event’s global impact and cultural continuity.

The Fifth Ghana Edition of the awards is also slated for 1st August 2026 in Takoradi, continuing the tradition of celebrating excellence at home while complementing the new UK platform.

The UK launch marks a significant leap forward for GWACA, positioning it as an international annual event that honours outstanding Western Ghanaian personalities and global achievers alike.
