$94m MIIF Probe: OSP searches Dr Sledge’s Trassaco residence

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has raided the Trassaco residence of Nana Yaw Duodu, also known as Dr Sledge, and at the East Legon offices of Goldridge Company Limited, as part of ongoing investigations into the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) gold trade programme.

The operation, conducted under warrants issued by the High Court in Accra, targets suspected corruption and corruption-related offences believed to have caused a financial loss of approximately US$94 million to the State.

During the searches, the OSP’s Asset Recovery and Management Team seized luxury vehicles, jewellery, firearms, and documents connected to landed properties thought to be linked to the investigation.

In September, Dr Sledge was detained by the OSP after he reportedly failed to meet bail conditions.

Authorities allege that over US$94 million was lost to the State due to Goldridge Refinery’s failure to honour trade settlements under the Gold for Forex and Gold for Oil initiatives.
