The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has scheduled Saturday, February 7, 2026, for the conduct of parliamentary primaries in the Ayawaso East Constituency.

The exercise is aimed at electing a replacement parliamentary candidate following the death of the sitting Member of Parliament, Mahama Naser Toure, who passed away on January 4, 2026, after a short illness.

The decision was announced in a press release dated January 20 and signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey.

According to the statement, nomination forms for the primaries will be obtained and submitted at the Greater Accra Regional Office of the party.

Mr. Kwetey explained that the official delegates list would be made available to aspirants only after verification of payment of the approved filing fee into the party’s official account.

The cost of nomination forms has been pegged at GH¢5,000, while the filing fee is GH¢40,000.

However, female aspirants and Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) will enjoy a 50 percent reduction in the filing fee.

The party is expected to release a detailed timetable to guide the conduct of the primaries ahead of the February 7 poll.
