Founder of Class Media Group Seidu Agongo Condemns Attack on Journalist by GNFS Personnel

Alhaji Seidu Agongo, founder of Class Media Group (CMG) has categorically condemned the alleged attack on a CMG reporter identified as Samuel Addo by personelle of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

“I express deep concern over the assault on one of our journalists,” he said.

Alhaji Agongo noted how the disturbing incident “not only threaten press freedom and the safety of journalist but also undermine Ghana’s credibility and standing as a champion of media rights”.

He emphasised the importance for the issue to be addressed promptly by relevant authorities, to champion accountability.

He also called for calm “as this matter is addressed”.

Statement by Alhaji Seidu Agongo, on the attack on Class Media Group journalist

On behalf of the Class Media Group, I express deep concern over the assault on one of our journalists by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service. Such incidents not only threaten press freedom and the safety of journalists but also undermine Ghana’s credibility and standing as a champion of media rights. We urge the relevant authorities to conduct a swift and impartial investigation to establish the facts and ensure accountability. Our journalist was performing his lawful duties, and we expect full cooperation from all parties to safeguard media practitioners. We remain committed to promoting responsible journalism and call for calm as this matter is addressed.
