Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has strongly condemned the assault of Class Media Group journalist Samuel Addo, describing the incident as “most unacceptable” and promising that those responsible will face consequences.

In a statement, Kwakye Ofosu said, “The attack on Class Media Group’s Samuel Addo by some personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service is most unacceptable and I condemn same. Firm action will be taken against the rogue elements who carried out this attack.”

The condemnation follows reports that Addo was assaulted while filming officers of the Ghana National Fire Service engaged in a heated confrontation with traders at an unnamed market. Sources indicate that the altercation occurred after officers reportedly arrived late to respond to a distress call, a delay that had already heightened tensions at the scene.

The Minister’s statement underscores the government’s commitment to protecting journalists and ensuring accountability for acts of violence against media personnel.
