President John Dramani Mahama on Friday, 5 December, officially inaugurated the Regional Signals Bureau in Ho, highlighting the government’s commitment to strengthening Ghana’s security architecture.

The ceremony was attended by Volta Regional Minister James Gunu, Interior Minister Mohammed Muntaka, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Ablakwa, other key stakeholders, and residents of Ho.

At the launch, President Mahama described the centre as a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced technology to monitor and respond to security challenges in real time.

“An economy that runs around the clock requires uninterrupted security, sophisticated surveillance, and modern intelligence capacity. That is why the inauguration of the National Signals Bureau in the Volta Region is so critical,” he said.

He noted that the bureau will play a pivotal role in cybersecurity protection, border surveillance, and early warning systems. “It will safeguard and protect new enterprises operating under the 24-hour economy framework. This is one facility that will define Ghana’s security ecosystem,” he added.

Interior Minister Mohammed Muntaka called on all internal security agencies to adopt a unified approach in utilising the new National Signals Bureau (NSB), stressing that the facility is a shared security asset and not the preserve of any single institution.
