Ghanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, has pushed back against public perceptions that he carries himself with arrogance, insisting that what many interpret as rudeness is simply intense passion for his craft.

Speaking on Prime Time on Joy Prime, Medikal explained that his demeanor is often misunderstood, stressing that his ambition is what keeps him moving. According to him, the energy behind his work ethic stems from a deep desire to grow.

“People say I’m rude but I’m not. I’m passionate and driven with my career. It’s the passion that drives me to new levels in life,” he said.

He added that his relentless pursuit of progress leaves him constantly seeking improvement, even at moments of peak success.

“I might have the hottest song today and still wake up to go to the studio the next day. I’m hungry for what I do. That’s what gears and energizes me to keep pushing forward,” he noted.

Medikal highlighted repetition and talent as the foundations of his rise, describing his natural ability as the engine of his achievements.

“My journey has been built on talent. It’s my talent that has taken me far. Talent is the prime source of my success,” he stated.

Beyond entertainment, he believes his music helps listeners navigate personal struggles, saying he raps to lift fans out of stress and emotional hardship.

He also responded to critics, suggesting that negative attention often masks admiration.

“Love is derived from hate. My haters love me,” he remarked.

Medikal went on to commend Sister Derby, describing their relationship as cordial and supportive despite past controversies.

As he reflected on the future, he said he hopes his legacy will be defined by authenticity.

“I want people to remember me for my realness. I’m a real guy,” he concluded.
