Heath Goldfields Ltd. has emerged victorious in a landmark Supreme Court ruling that dismissed legal challenges from Future Global Resources Ltd. (FGR) and Blue Gold Bogoso Ltd. over the Bogoso-Prestea Mine.
The unanimous decision on Tuesday, November 18, affirmed the legal soundness of Heath Goldfields’ acquisition of the mine. The Court, presided over by His Lordship Justice Amadu Tanko JSC, criticized the applicants for their repeated attempts to overturn prior High Court rulings, questioning why Heath Goldfields Ltd. and the Minerals Commission were unnecessarily drawn into the dispute.
This ruling represents the sixth consecutive legal defeat for FGR and Blue Gold since September 2024, when the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources terminated their mining rights and approved the transfer of the mine to Heath Goldfields Ltd. Earlier rulings, including one by Her Ladyship Justice Yaa Onyameye Gyakobo JA on March 20, 2025, had already dismissed their applications as incompetent.
Heath Goldfields Ltd. highlighted that the Supreme Court decision strengthens its legal position and reinforces the Ghanaian government’s commitment to transparent and accountable management of mineral resources. The company remains focused on operating the mine responsibly, supporting host communities, and contributing to national economic growth.
