President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Cairo ahead of the highly anticipated grand opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), set to take place tomorrow, November 1.

The historic ceremony will be held under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and is expected to draw an elite gathering of global leaders, monarchs, and distinguished guests from around the world.

Situated adjacent to the iconic Giza Pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum stands as the world’s largest archaeological museum dedicated to a single civilization. The monumental complex will showcase more than 5,000 years of ancient Egyptian history and culture, marking a significant milestone in international heritage preservation and tourism.

President Mahama’s attendance underscores Ghana’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic and cultural ties with Egypt, while joining the global community to celebrate one of humanity’s most enduring civilizations.
