Ignore planted ‘Skirt and Blouse’ posters; I’m not campaigning for Mahama – NaBCo CEO

The New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for Tamale Central, Dr. Ibrahim Anyars, has distanced himself from some ‘skirt and blouse’ posters, which he said have been “planted” by some unidentified groups, which suggest he is campaigning for opposition flagbearer John Mahama in one breadth and for himself on the another.

According to Dr. Anyars, the photos are fake and should be treated with all the contempt they deserve.

Today is the fifteenth (15th) time, since the virus came to our country some five (5) months ago, that I have come to provide you with the status of our co-ordinated efforts to defeat COVID-19. I must thank you, again, for welcoming me into your homes, and I must repeat how proud I am to be your President in these difficult times. Regional breakdown of EC’s just ended registration exercise

Provisional figures as announced today, Wednesday, August 12, 2020, by the Electoral Commission put the total number of persons who registered in the just voter registration exercise at 16,963,306.

It includes the 30,814 persons registered during the two-day mop-up registration exercise organised over the weekend.

Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, said the figure is pending processes of deduplication and adjudication.

She expects the figure to drop after these processes.

Never do music for NPP, NDC for free – Barima Sidney to colleagues

Controversial musician Barima Sidney has advised fellow artistes who wish to do music for any of the political parties in Ghana to make sure they charge and take money before any move to do that.

The “African Money” hit maker during the 2016 general election threw his support behind the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and went further to do music for the party.

But speaking on Akoma Fm in Kumasi in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com, he noted that musicians must utilize the business aspect of their craft.

“Our plans include an aggressive job and entrepreneurial programme in the public and private sector; that will deliver a minimum of 250,000 jobs every year. A total of 1,000,000 jobs across the country by the end of my term in office in 2024. We will put Ghanaians to work to earn a decent living,” said Mahama.
